Version 1.1a - 5th November 2014

Use this tool to obtain a phone screenshot.

  • Browser (Firefox, Chrome and IE tested)
  • IP address of the phone
  • Phone must be associated to an End User
  • End user must belong to the CUCM Users group
  • End user details
    • Username
    • PIN

  • Add the phone to an End User and the user must belong at least to the CCM End Users group;
  • Make sure the Authentication URL in the Enterprise Parameters (or at the phone level, if overwritten) is reachable.
    • Test with your browser – if you see UN-AUTHORIZED – this means that you can reach the Authentication service.
    • Then test issuing the following URL. Replace relevant parameters to your case.
      • http://<cucm ip>:8080/ccmcip/authenticate.jsp?UserID=<end user username>&Password=<end user password>&devicename=<SEPXXXXXXXXXXXX>
      • In this case you should see AUTHORIZED
        • This step is very important for the phone to show your screenshot
  • If using HTTPS, make sure there are no problems with the CUCM certificate and the phone’s certificate. You can check this at the phone logs.
  • 7912, 7960 and 7940’s are not supported by this tool. 7960 and 7940 return an XML file that the browser cannot understand.
    • You can however use phone logo tools at TAC to convert these files into a BMP or GIF
  • You can press the “Get” button a second time to update the current image.
  • The image takes a while to load. On the 79XX phones you can see it loading for the first time. Loading another screenshot while there’s already an existing one will be only update when the image is loaded. 89XX and 99XX do not show progressive loading.
